Only fondue, no Kebab

The Swiss football team won the 1st match in Bern last Saturday against the Turkish team. 2:0.

Yesterday, the Swiss team is officially qualified for the World Cup 2006 in Germany. All papers here have the same headlines : Deutschland, wir kommen(Germany, we are coming). Since the last victory, the Turks were pretty pissed off the the Swiss team won. When the Swiss team arrived in Istanbul for the 2nd match, the Turkes were holding up cards saying ' Welcome to hell' , ' 8:0' etc. I guess the good sport spirit has gone down the drain.

The Swiss team scored their 1st goal in the half 1st minute! It was a penalty goal by Alex Frei coz one of the Turkish player had the ball hit his hand. Well, cant blame him coz it's perfect normal human reaction to raise the hand when an object comes flying towards him. 1st goal for the Swiss team. The Turkish team was certainly motivated coz they scored the following 3 goals. By head. The Swiss team obviously determined to get into the World Cup, kicked their way up another goal. The end result for Swiss Vs Turkey was 2:4.

The Swiss team is qualified coz they won the 1st match, and playing as a guest in another country gives them an advantage. The once ranked 3rd football team is now out of the game. THe Turks actually played very well. Well, just blame it on bad luck.

My piano performance on Tuesday went on well despite my nervousness. I was so bloody nervous! Sweaty palms. I 'm glad that I got through it. Mami, Laura and a couple of my friends stayed back after school to watch me play. How sweet of them. Glad it's over now. It was a good experience though.
